There has been some controversy about the movie, Eragon. What is your opinion of it?

Why do you like the book Eragon (and the sequel, Eldest) by Christopher Paolini, and why should you get to go to the movie free? Answer these two questions for a chance at a free ticket to the new Rio Grande Theater for Eragon when it opens next month! I’ll pick what I consider the best answer for a prize, so get thinking! Name some things that you think you will enjoy about the Media Center itself, as well as things you like about the Media Center webpage. Do you have any ideas for things you’d like to see in our library or on the webpage? Last year, Nikki Haug suggested poetry for the webpage, and that’s how the Poetry Corner came to be! Do you have any books to suggest that we purchase for the library? Let’s hear those ideas!

Give us a list of books that you consider “must-reads” for other high school students. They don’t have to be books on our shelves, but any that you highly recommend! This list could help some of you with summer reading! Don’t forget, the Media Center has summer checkout beginning at 8am on Tuesday morning, May 30th! No limit, and you can keep ‘em all summer. So stock up now!

Some people say that there won’t be a future for print books – that we’ll all be reading e-books or some other form of literature on computers only. Do you think that’s true? Do you think you would miss being able to “cuddle up with a good book?”

Here is an opinion question about an issue that comes up often in young adult literature – cursing. Do you feel that it is necessary for an author to include cursing in his/her book to make it “authentic” (sounds like teenagers really speak)? Or would the books be just as good without the cursing?

What book that you have read recently would you most like to see as a movie???
