Freshman question (also open to other students!)
Name some things that you think you will enjoy about the Media Center itself, as well as things you like about the Media Center webpage. Do you have any ideas for things you’d like to see in our library or on the webpage? Last year, Nikki Haug suggested poetry for the webpage, and that’s how the Poetry Corner came to be! Do you have any books to suggest that we purchase for the library? Let’s hear those ideas!

I think that you should have a few books in the library like Resident Evil. I read a couple of those books before and i thought that those Resident Evil books were pretty good and I, myself think that other people would like them to. The person who wrote the Resident Evil books was S. D. Perry and he writes really good books. Like i said before i think that other people would like these books.

somethings i think i will enjoy in the library is the poetry Coffee house & things i like
now are all the selection of extremely well-written books. umm…i don’t thik my idea is any odf my i
good but i do think you should have a couple of days were kids can come in and just discuss new books and in the end they choose a book they all like that they talked about and then check it out if they have copies for each of the students and then when they meet again they could discuss what they read.

The media center look great,it had a comfortable atmosphere and it is a great place to relax
ax and it also has a very good selection of books. The webage looks nice but it would be ni
ice if it didn’t look as blochy, mabye make the links a little smaller and have a big list on the side of the page and then add other important things on the homepage like news or something else thats important.

I like how the quiet section has poof chairs where you can come pick out a good book and just read without being distured. I’m not a big fan of reading and I like that. I think you’ll see me in a poof chair several times this year!

The Media Center seems very welcoming and homey. I also like the media center web page and
how it shows you things like the newest books, hot picks, and poetry corner. I think that
one thing that would improve the library would be to have a new book every month that the
students choose to add to the library collection. I think it would make more kids want to
read if some of there favorite books that arent available in most librarys could be available
here at our library.

ithnk that the decoration in this library is too white and blan. i would like the walls and the carpet to be more comfortable looking. i dont think they are very inviting maybe if you put a richer cream color on the walls it would look more warm to the people visiting.

The part that I think i’m going to like most about the media center is the bean bag chairs. I think we should get more of them though so that there’s always at least one that isn’t being used.

The media center seems really useful. It’s got basically everything that you could possibly want in it. Although, it
seems to have an aoura that is welcoming but not completely homey in a way. I really like the poof chairs in the quiet room because they are really comfy. The best part of the webpage to me would have to be the poetry corner because I really like poetry.

I think that the library seems like a cool place. I really like all the posters
and i especially like the read posters with the students on them. A lot of the
books look like they would be good to read. Another thing that i like about the
library are the big comfy chairs. I like how they have picture books because even
though i am in 9th grade sometimes i like to read little kid books too! =] Maybe
the library someday will be able to paint the walls a different color and make them
more fun to look at!

The library looks amazing. The book selection is great, and the quiet section radiates an air of comfort. I like the idea for a book club. I would suggest an online catalog of books that is a bit easir to navigate. I can’t wait to start reading!

the media center is pretty cool. i like the poetry coffeehouse, it sounds really awesome and i think that i’ll come to one of thoes. I think you should have something less formal….like if we all sat in a circle and read our poems…some people might like that better than getting up and speaking into a microphone in front of everyone. maybe you could lend the poof chairs out to people as a reward for something…like me for being awesome.

I think u should have a sports club thingy majigger for people that liek sport books more than other certain kinds of books because if im looking fo rsport books i dont want to take a long time trying to find other books…i would just want to find sport books or any sport related material in the media-center

I think for the media center, it would be cool for people from the school to “chat” on here
and of course it could be monitored, but it would give students a way to chat with eachother
online, instead of going to other websites, or them trying to break throught the, sonic wall
that the school has.
Also it would be cool if the library, kids could stay after with eachother, and talk about
school topics.

Hmm.. maybe we could do some kind of like “Chill Time” with students .. kids could come
in the Media Center, and we could sit in the bean bag chairs, in a circle and just talk
about daily teenage problems, and maybe like make arts and crafts for the media center..
but im not sure how the would exatcly work, with students schedules and all, but there has to be some way that it can work! Lets do it!

I would enjoy the media center because it’s much easier to come to school and go to the
library, then having to get a ride to one outside of school. I also enjoy that the
selection of books is much larger than Teitelmans. A suggestion I have is you should
organize books more on interest and a little more specifically. When I did the scavenger
hunt I couldn’t find career books. Things should be more properly labeled.

can see if the book we are looking for, is in the library from our home computer. I
really enjoy the “Quiet Room” it gives all students a quiet place to read and concetrate.
Maybe for a suggestion you could start a new part of the website, and ask kids for their
suggestions on the new books. Have a certain amount of new books a month, and all the
new books would be from the students. Overall, the media center and the website is
great, and I know I will use the library this year. =]

I believe i will enjoy certain aspects of the media center such as the selection of books
to choose from. I LOVE THE WEBSITE!! Very supurb, i would like to see hand sanitizer in

I think the Media Center is better than last years Media Center, because this one is

if you leave a review on a book youd get some points or something or every book you read
then when a new book is coming out that the library is getting you could have an auction
with the points to put a reserve on it so the person who pays the most points gets the

You should pick 3 to 5 books and have all the students rate the books on a scale of one to five and you post the book with the highest rating will be posted on the media center home page.

I know now that I’ll love the media center. The website is very easy to navigate. I’ll probably be found in the fantasy section looking for more books to read. Mrs. Carp…I’d like to be one of the reviwers. I’d sugest that there could be a section where we could recomend books, that aren’t in the library. That way, we could know of more books other than just the ones here.

Personally, I think that the website itself is complete.
It has enough things on it to entertain its viewers.
Anyway, about the media center. It really could use
some color and have a more inviting feel to it. Plus,
(I think I’m speaking for everyone) it’s too cold!

I reaaly like this library. Honestly, I think that it is better than the
county library. The website is amazing. It is so cool that you can basiclly
access the whole library in an instant. A suggestion that I have is to
have a reading club where we have this group and we meet after school and
we pick a book to read and we have a set amount of time to read the book.
After school one day we can all sit down and talk about the book. At the end
of the year we can make up a game with teams and ask questions about the books.

I think that we should also be able to submit short stories to the site, not just poetry.

I think that a good idea would be to have a link for authors. If a student finds a book that they like than they might want to know somthing about that author. Or if they like a cetain author, than they could find a book that that person has written.

I think i will enjoy the fantasy section in the library, and I like th idea of the review
person. For the media center I thought that we could add an online book club that reads a
book, and discuss it in a blog. Another idea that I had was to add stars to the review so
people can rate how good the book is, if they want to review it. I think that the website
is really good, but I think we could add a poll to the website to see which book is the
best new book. I don’t have any suggestions for new books to order.

I think we should have a contest. So evryone can see how meny book you read.
Like each person has there own web site and they can put there review on the books they read
and the one how read the most best get a vary good prise.

I beleive ithe thing i will like the most about the library is that there are dirtbiker magizines and the poofy chairs. The thing i beleive we should do with the library is that we should all raise money and nuy the reveiwers a gift card for the book store.

I think that you should have a system where you can reserve a book. Fot instence if you cant make it to the library to get a book or if the book you want is out you can ask to reserve for you when it comes back.

Personally I think you should ad more genres of magazines to your collection because myself as well as other girls I’m sure would be interested in other magazines like J-14, Tiger Beat, and Popstar.
Also I would like to see a wider variety of anime considering their are many people in this
school that i know personally that wold come down here to look at the new ‘RESPCETABLE’
ANIME books as well as magazines for guys.

I think tha the library should start supplying Clive Cussler books. His books fall under the Realistic fiction catagory. He has been called the “Father of Realistic Fiction” by many book reviewers. I would love to see his books in the library, because I think they will add to the library.

I think the library should have student activitys, something like the coffee house but student organized. it would get students in the library more and sometimes someone might have a very good idea for an activity and alot of people will come, and while there in here they might see a book they like and check it check it out the next day.

I would like to see the series of books called the Clique because it relates to teen
popularity and how hard it is. Also on the webpage it would be good to see a place for people to suscribe there “Short” stories to.

we should get a club for people who dont like to read. Then maybe kids would like to read like get a book that kids would like to read and then maybe they would like to read. I dont think we need any books in the library.

I think we should have in the media center is maybe a coffe house like every friday and then everyone will be happy of course then when ever we have the party we could bring in our favorite books in and then people share there favorite books with everyone there and why. Then when we are done that we have a big partyyyyy.

I think we need a group of people that would get together and read a book and do a project on the book then make a poster or something noticable so kids see it in the halls and then want to read it.If the poster is well done and interesting it has to stand out. Decorated with things that us highschoolers like i think that would work!!!

I suggest two things. Maybe a section for people to post song lyrics they’ve written. Another idea coming from Sara (dun dun dunnn) is a section for screenplays and such. I prefer the latter, but you should definately use at least one of them. And make us the leading force in that said section.

I think that the media center should have music playing, not loud but enought to just calm the mood. Music helps me read a book, it might help other people concentrate too!

the library is the best place in the intire skwl!! u can just hang out with ur friends, read a book or do ur home work with out a teacher huvering over ur shoulder. i think tht more people should get involved here. u can make plenty of friends nd learn great things!!
